  1. Schedule a free-15 minute consultation, on the phone or online, to see if we may be a good fit.

  2. If we decide to work together, the first few sessions will allow us to get to know each other and set goals for our time together.

  3. We will explore your experience with music in your life and how music has helped you thus far. I will meet you where you're at, highlight your strengths, and provide resources to help you manage and thrive.

  4. We will engage in a variety of music and talk therapy experiences to explore and work toward your goals. Difficult emotions may arise and it is important to let me know so that we can work through them in safely.

  5. We will work together to assess your needs as we go along the therapeutic process and make adjustments as necessary.

What?

Experiences

  • Talk - I draw from various therapeutic approaches that might best fit your needs in the moment. This includes, Humanistic and Strengths-Based approaches, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

  • Music Listening - Listening to music that is meaningful to you can quickly bring up thoughts, feelings, and emotions without needing to talk about it, especially when you don't know where to start.

  • Music Making -  Whether it'd be playing instruments, re-creating a song, improvising, or singing, the act of music making itself can improve self esteem and self concept. Playing with another person in this therapeutic context can also increase connection, safety, and trust. It is also another form of self-expression. You do not need to have prior musical experience.

  • Song writing - Turn your thoughts into lyrics or sounds, and create a meaningful product from your therapy experience.
